Our visit from Sister Joan
As part of our mini Inquiry on Catherine McAuley we were lucky to have Sister Joan came in the share her memories of St James' School and about becoming a Sister of Mercy.

WALT ... develop tools for lifelong learning
Our BIG QUESTION this term is ...
"My voice is powerful"
We have been learning to use our BLUE Hat thinking, which means we are thinking about our thinking, and oranising our thinking. We have been doing this by using activities such as 'Fox in a fix' to sequence ideas.
Our teacher has set the scene ... this is what happened!
You and your friends have just been washed up on an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean after your cruise ship sunk.
A 'Silent Jigsaw' of the island we had landed on was an activity which required us to work in Unity (SUPER Value), as well as Participate and Contribute (Key Competencies).
We then created a 'Bubble Map' within our island groups of what was required in order for us to survive. We came together as a class and created this 'Bubble Map' ...
